We find the leak before we quote the gasket
Oil runs downhill and lands somewhere else. A drip at the back of the engine is often a seal up front. We clean the engine, add dye, drive it, and show you the source — then quote that repair, not every gasket on the car.

The leaks we see most: valve-cover gaskets on BMW, MINI and Infiniti; the oil-filter-housing gasket on BMW that drips onto the belt; cam-adjuster solenoid seals on Mercedes that wick into the wiring harness; oil-cooler seals in the valley of Mercedes V6 and V8s; the rear-main seal and cam-chain cover on Audi and VW; the oil-pan gasket on nearly everything; and Porsche's chain-box and valve-cover leaks on air-cooled cars. Each has a known fix and a known price.
The diagnosis matters more than the repair. A leak that has been running for months coats everything below it, so the honest first step is to clean the engine, add UV dye, run the car and look. That takes a day and it is the difference between replacing one gasket and replacing three you did not need.
Some leaks are urgent — oil on an exhaust manifold or a leak that is dropping the level — and some can be scheduled. We tell you which, in writing, with the price.

Houston-area ranges, before the quote
People search the cost before they search a shop, so here are honest ranges for the jobs we do most. They are typical Houston-area figures for parts and labor, not a quote — your estimate is built on your exact car and what we actually find. The one promise we make on price: the bill matches the estimate.

Frequently asked
Why do I smell burning oil at stoplights?
Oil is landing on the exhaust manifold — usually a valve-cover gasket. It is one of the cheaper leaks to repair and one of the ones not to ignore.
How much does an oil leak repair cost?
From about $150 for a simple gasket to $1,500+ for a rear-main seal that requires the transmission out. The dye test tells us which, before we quote.
Can you just top it off?
You can, for a while. We will tell you how fast it is losing oil and whether that is reasonable or a risk to the engine.
Do you work on European oil leaks?
Yes — BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Porsche, MINI and Range Rover leaks are the majority of what we see.
