A can of refrigerant from the parts store is not an A/C repair. Refrigerant does not get used up; if the system is low, it leaked, and it will leak again. We start with a proper leak test — dye, electronic detection, and a pressure check — then quote the actual repair, whether that is a Schrader valve, a condenser peppered by Highway 6 gravel, or a compressor.

Slow leaks that only show up in July
Most Houston A/C complaints are a slow refrigerant leak that was fine in March. We find it with dye and an electronic sniffer at the Schrader valves, condenser seams, evaporator and lines — and fix the leak, not just top it off.
Condensers hit by road debris
The condenser sits in front of the radiator and takes every rock on 59 and the Beltway. A seam leak at the bottom is the most common A/C repair we do.
Blend-door actuators and 'one side blows hot'
Air that is cold on one side and warm on the other is a blend-door actuator or the dual-zone control, not refrigerant. We diagnose before a recharge is sold.
European A/C: Mercedes, BMW, Range Rover, Porsche
German cars run high-pressure systems with auxiliary fans and compressor clutches that are their own diagnosis. We service them with the right equipment and the right refrigerant — R134a or R1234yf.
Compressors that failed because of something else
A compressor rarely fails alone: a weak condenser fan, a clogged expansion valve or a failed clutch relay took it out. We find the cause so the new compressor lasts.
Evaporator smell and cabin filters
A musty smell on start-up is the evaporator; a weak airflow is the cabin filter. Both are cheap to address and often missed.

Why does my A/C blow cold, then warm?
Usually a low charge from a leak, a failing compressor clutch, or an evaporator icing over. It needs a proper diagnosis rather than a top-off.
How long does an A/C repair take?
Leak testing and recharge is usually same-day. Compressor or condenser replacement is typically a day; evaporators take longer.
Do you service R-1234yf systems?
Yes. Most cars since about 2017 use R-1234yf, and we have the equipment for it.
Is a recharge enough?
Only if the system is nearly full and a small leak has been repaired. A recharge on a leaking system is money spent twice.
